“ Being the best is not good enough. Try harder. Just make sure having fun is a central component of striving for excellence. ”
- Carl Horowitz
One of my all time favorite Table Tennis player is Jan-Ove Waldner. The sheer elegance and perfection in a seemingly simple looking play-style is what makes me look up to him. Also, his attitude towards the game that made him a great is what I love most. This is a favorite quote of mine that explains why Table Tennis, any other sport, or anything in life for that matter, is all in the mind before it manifests in the physical world. It emphasizes on how important it is to read situations before acting upon something and how doing so will give you an edge over everyone else.
“A glimpse of why I love Waldner! His drop shots are a joy to watch. The way he plays, it seems like he’s a prophet. He simply knows where the next ball is coming…”
One of my most viewed Blog Post is about the fundamentals that schools don’t teach us. This article speaks about the basic life-skills that sports can teach us from a young age which the schools don’t. Education is of prime importance but inculcating sports among children is equally important. You may not want it to be your ultimate career but it plays a major role in shaping individuals for whatever career they choose. This is because life is just like sport, you either persevere and dominate or not.
